Australian newcomer Nicole Millar has dropped the video for her latest single, ‘Favours’. The track combines mesmerising chordal textures with unique sound manipulations and a gritty, textured bassline. The percussion fizzes, providing a solid beat for the otherwise funky, late-on-the-beat chords. The chorus demonstrates the breathy voice and catchy melodies Millar is capable of as she sings “do me no favours” over a much more rigid, staccato accompaniment. The video itself embraces leftfield filming techniques, with kaleidoscopic edits and an appreciation for the importance of colour taking centre stage as the video follows her through a variety of interesting locations.
